Our Story
What began with 3 students and a dream has grown into a movement that transforms lives through dance.
Hear It From Our Founder

How It All Began
In 2016, Sarah Lototskyy — a professional ballroom dancer and studio owner — welcomed 3 students into her dance studio: one with Down syndrome, one with autism, and one with epilepsy.
She believed they deserved the same joy, discipline, and confidence that dance brings to everyone. What started as a simple belief became a mission.
Today, Dynasty Stars serves 200+ individuals with special needs across 3 Florida locations — transforming lives one dance at a time.
The Power of Inclusion
What began as three dancers moving carefully across the studio floor has now grown into a movement — one that has touched over 200 special needs students throughout Sarasota, Venice, and St. Petersburg. Through grassroots community support and the dedication of local families, Dynasty Stars found its home and heart.
But this program is so much more than dance. Each lesson is a step toward belonging. Each performance is a message to the community — that every person, regardless of ability, deserves to shine.
Transforming Lives, One Step at a Time
For students like Vanessa, who was born with dwarfism and an intellectual disability, Dynasty Stars became a lifeline. Under the patient guidance of our instructors, Vanessa found not only physical strength, balance, and posture — but a renewed sense of purpose and community. Through dance, she learned to express herself, to connect, and to feel "no different from anyone else."
Communication Without Words
Take Ben and Jack, brothers with multiple special needs — Down syndrome, autism, ADHD, and hearing loss. Ben, who is nonverbal, now connects through movement — engaging with his partner, making eye contact, and expressing emotion through dance. Jack has found focus and motivation through his instructor's patience. When they performed on stage for the first time, their parents were overcome with emotion: "For the first time, our boys got to shine and feel like any other kid."
More Than Movement — Building Futures
Through ballroom dance, students achieve measurable physical progress — improved coordination, posture, balance, and muscle strength — but the emotional and social growth is even greater. The Dynasty Stars Employable Troupe showcases that individuals with special needs are not just capable performers — they are capable employees. These dancers learn professionalism, punctuality, responsibility, and how to work within a team. The narrative shifts from "they can't" to "they absolutely can."
The Birth of the Foundation
After years of tremendous growth, Sarah Lototskyy and her board recognized the need for a dedicated organization to sustain and expand the impact of the Dynasty Stars dance program. Thus, the Dynasty Stars Foundation, Inc. was born — to ensure that every individual, regardless of ability or financial situation, has access to the life-changing benefits of ballroom dance.
From three students to over two hundred. From quiet first steps to standing ovations. From isolation to inclusion.
That's the story — and the promise — of the Dynasty Stars.

"The work of the Dynasty Stars Foundation is transformational. Melanie Carson and Sarah Lototskyy have created a program that not only teaches dance, but shapes more confident, capable, and socially prepared young individuals."
"Students develop essential interpersonal skills such as maintaining eye contact, understanding appropriate social touch, demonstrating mutual respect, and learning how to interact respectfully... These are foundational life skills that will serve them in academic settings, professional environments, and their future roles as community leaders."
